Apprentices will learn on-the-job within the NAMS base community they are placed in. They will be encouraged to discover and use the gifts and passions as the Holy Spirit leads them. Practical opportunites for ministry abound in our bases, with worship, discipleship and outreach the main focuses. Depending on opportunities in the host base community, apprentices can expect to be involved in and be mentored to do:
Urban, Refugee and migrant ministry
Creative arts/worship and prayer
Leading and involvement in Christian service and worship
Small group and one-on-one discipling
All GAP participants will be also offered the following:
A pre-trip orientation preparation course and 6-monthly regional gatherings with other GAP participants while deployed in the GAP programme. These will cover NAMS core module of training that is taught and practiced in the field.
Specific and personal mentoring by NAMS leadership within the base communities.
